The evidence for it is indisputable; the experience of it is undeniable - He is risen!
The fact that first century Jews worshipped a man who had been crucified, abandoned Jewish ceremonial laws, met on the first day of the week, and gave their lives for their belief that they met and ate with the risen Christ is pretty strong evidence! The truth is there is no naturalistic explanation that explains the facts of that first Easter. However, there is an explanation, it's the one those first disciples gave, God raised Him from the dead!
But the resurrection is not just a historical fact, it is a present reality with relevance for you. The risen Christ is still exercising His soul-saving, life-changing power in the lives of millions of people today. There is no bodily resurrection-denying religion that changes lives the way the Gospel of the risen Son of God changes lives. He transforms people personally, practically, powerfully, positively and permanently. There is no competition.
It's wonderful to know that He died (Romans 5 v 6-8), but it's more wonderful to know that He's not dead (1 Corinthians 15 v 1-4, 13-20).
If you are an unbeliever, the resurrection should cause you fear, because it tells you that Christ is who He claimed to be, what He taught is true, and you will meet Him some day (Acts 17 v 31).
But if you are an unbeliever, the resurrection should calm your fear, because it tells you His sacrificial death was accepted by God, He is able to save (Hebrews 7 v 25), and you can meet Him today.
I pray this Easter Sunday marks the beginning of a new life for you as you turn to the only Saviour, the one who died for our sins and rose again.
