I just listened to an atheist talking to a Christian about what it would take for him to believe that God exists and wanted a relationship with him.

Hail! Incarnate deity!

It has been called The Greatest Story Ever Told, and so it is. That God would enter into His creation to save those that had strayed from Him, and suffer for those who had sinned against Him, eclipses every other love story.

Dawkins fan?

I spoke to a man recently who told me he was an atheist and a follower of Richard Dawkins.

And of Asher he said...

In Moses' final blessing on Israel he said to the tribe of Asher, "As your days, so shall your strength be" (Deut. 33:25). He promised that they would get strength for each day, and I think the McArthur family (owners of Ashers, the bakers) have proved this through the whole legal rigmarole of the last couple of years.

Reprint

My 2013 book, He that Believeth Not... has been reprinted and rearranged a bit. It is now divided up into chapters, and includes a Scripture reference. Could there be any subject more serious?

One God, the Father...?

In the last couple of posts I have written about verses that people use to deny the deity of Christ, and when we have looked at these verses more carefully we discover they actually prove He is God. We are going to look at another one here.

The inability of Christ?

I said last month that we would look at some verses that people use to support the view that Jesus Christ is not God. Today the one we are looking at is John 5:19:

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Not so fast!

Sometimes it is easy to jump to a wrong conclusion after a surface look or shallow consideration of something. This sometimes doesn't matter, but when it comes to Scripture and the identity of Christ it matters more than anything else.

Evidence for the historicity of Jesus

This is a video clip by a friend of mine giving some clear evidence for the fact of Jesus of Nazareth's existence. This is not something doubted by (practically) anyone who knows anything about history, but sadly has gained a following on the Internet and is just a lazy and ill-thought-through position.
