Book recommendation and review

Given that we have just concluded a little series of articles on verses that people use to deny the deity of Christ, I want to point you in the direction of an excellent resource that proves the deity of Christ.

Putting Jesus in His Place is a well-argued, thorough, yet very readable presentation of the overwhelming Scriptural proof that Jesus Christ is God.

The authors use the acronym HANDS to hang their headings on, showing that Christ shares the honours of God, the attributes of God, the names of God, the deeds of God and the seat of God. Each heading opens up into a few chapters, for example, under the heading of the honours of God, the authors show that Christ was praised (chapter 1), worshipped (chapter 2), prayed to (chapter 3), sung to / about (chapter 4), feared, loved, trusted, served and obeyed (chapter 5) in ways that the Bible states are exclusively for God.

They give fascinating insights, deal thoroughly with objections, provide Scriptural context and exegesis to support their points and leave the reader in no doubt that Thomas got it right when he called the risen Christ, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28).

I have done a more detailed review here.
